Where profit distribution breaks trust
The treasurer calculates profit in a spreadsheet by adding up income and subtracting expenses. But the spreadsheet does not include loan interest earned or fine revenue, so the profit figure is always incomplete.
A member who saved UGX 5,000,000 gets the same profit share as a member who saved UGX 500,000. The club's constitution says 'proportional to savings' but nobody calculated the proportions — they just split it equally.
The committee decides to retain 20% of profits for reinvestment. The treasurer subtracts 20% from the total, distributes the rest, then forgets to record the retained amount anywhere. Next year, nobody can account for it.
